Prompt: Write a Complete Promotional Email Campaign
For Email Marketing Specialists
Level 1 — Free chatbot (ChatGPT or Claude) | Time: 3-5 minutes
The Prompt
Write a promotional email campaign for the following offer:
Offer: [describe the sale, discount, product launch, or event]
Audience: [describe the segment — e.g., "past purchasers who haven't bought in 90 days"]
Brand voice: [describe tone — e.g., "friendly and direct, no corporate fluff"]
Brand/company name: [name]
Key deadline or urgency: [end date or "no deadline"]
Deliver:
1. 5 subject line options (different angles: urgency, benefit-first, curiosity, FOMO, plain)
2. Preview text (matching each subject line, 85-100 characters)
3. Hero headline
4. Body copy (150-200 words — benefit-focused, minimal preamble)
5. CTA button text (3 options)
6. P.S. line (optional urgency reminder)
How to Use This
Fill in the blanks before pasting. The more specific your offer and audience description, the better the output. "Past purchasers who haven't bought in 90 days" produces better copy than "our email list."
After you get the output:
- Pick the subject line that feels most true to how your subscribers talk about this topic
- Edit the body to add any specific product details the AI couldn't know
- Check that the CTA links match your actual landing page
If the copy sounds too generic, add one sentence about your brand's specific positioning: "We're a premium skincare brand that uses only clean ingredients — our tone is knowledgeable but never preachy."
Example
Input:
Offer: Summer sale — 40% off all clothing, ends Sunday at midnight
Audience: Subscribers who browsed the website in the last 30 days but haven't purchased
Brand voice: Casual, confident, direct. We don't over-explain.
Brand name: Solstice Co.
Urgency: Sale ends Sunday
What good output includes:
- Subject lines ranging from direct ("40% off ends Sunday") to benefit ("Your summer wardrobe, 40% lighter on your wallet") to urgency ("3 days left: 40% off everything")
- Body copy that mentions browsing behavior subtly ("You've been looking...") without being creepy
- CTA variants: "Shop the Sale," "Claim Your 40% Off," "See What's On Sale"
Variations
For a product launch:
Replace the sale details with: "Product: [product name and 1-sentence description]. Launch date: [date]. Key differentiator: [what makes it different]. Price: [price]."
For a re-engagement campaign:
Add: "Note: This audience hasn't opened our emails in 60 days. The subject line and opener should acknowledge the gap naturally, not be pushy."
For B2B:
Add: "Audience context: These are mid-level marketing managers at SaaS companies. Write at a peer level, not as a vendor pitching down."
